Che bello scrivere in questa nuova cornice tutta colorata! Che dire poi della nuvola dei tag: così colorata non l’ho vista in nessun blog. Grazie Pim, per tutto questo. Che dite vi piace la nuova veste di QCS? A me sì, ma sono parte in causa, aspetto le vostre impressioni.

Ok ma andiamo al sodo. Oggi vorrei parlarvi, ma soprattutto farvi ascoltare, un brano degli Editors: Briks and mortar, dal loro ultimo album In this light and on this evenings (bellissimo titolo).

Gli Editors incidono per una major e questo si sente: in tutti i brani del disco non c’è una minima deviazione, una minima bizzarria, tutto è molto professionale e scorre via liscio come l’olio e dentro la righe. Come dire: it’s just Rock ‘n Roll. Tuttavia le canzoni del disco sono compatte e potenti come devono essere delle belle canzoni pop.  Il singolo che ha preceduto l’album è Papillon, mi ricorda quei pezzi che noi rokkettari utilizzavamo per ballare alle feste qualche decennio fa. Invece la mia preferita e Bricks and mortar, dal ritmo meno enfatico e dal sapore vagamente impegnato (vedi testo qui in basso). L’augurio finale me lo prendo un po’ per me poi lo giro a tutti voi. “I hope life is good for you aaaaaaaaaaaah”
